Once Africa’s wealthiest nation, Libya has been in a state of constant chaos since the NATO intervention in 2011 toppled the government of Muammar Gaddafi. An eruption of violence, crime, and humanitarian crisis turned Libya in one of the key hubs of arms, drugs, and human trafficking.
Since 2012, the United States, three other countries, and three Libyan armed factions have continued air operations there, conducting at least 2,158 airstrikes, including drone attacks, according to a new report released Wednesday.
